Bowen Honored with Hospitality Management Award
Emily Bowen, director of revenue, reservations, and distribution for Penn State Hospitality Services, has won the Single/Multi Property Revenue Manager of the Year award from the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI).
Bowen has worked in the hospitality industry for 13 years, leading a variety of teams in operational and strategic management. She was recognized with the award at an HSMAI conference in New Orleans in June.
“This is a tremendous hotel industry acknowledgement and honor,” says Joe Crimmins, Executive Director of Penn State Hospitality Services. “We are proud of Emily and the difference she has made as part of our team.”
Tom Neely, General Manager of The Nittany Lion Inn, adds, “In my nearly 30 years in this business, Emily is one of the most creative and analytically focused directors of revenue I have had the pleasure to work with. She continuously finds new opportunities and truly looks to be on the cutting edge of our industry.”
Bowen, who says winning the award is “a bit surreal,” is quick to credit her team. “I’m honored to receive this award in a field that includes so many talented professionals that I look toward for insight and inspiration,” she says. “I am truly thankful to have had the support of my own career development at PSHS and love being part of such a dynamic and exciting field that challenges me daily.”
At the HSMAI awards presentation, Bob Gilbert, president and CEO of HSMAI, said it was a privilege to recognize Bowen and others who “exemplify leadership and have proven themselves in a discipline that has transformed the performance of the hotel industry.”
