Two Hands Wines Dinner

Two Hands Wine Dinner
Thursday, March 23, 2017

We are pleased to announce a new and exciting wine dinner series at The Nittany Lion Inn. March 23rd will begin our Wine Maker Dinner series featuring the world class wines of Two Hands Wines of Australia. Famous for its full line of premium Shiraz’s. If you’re a red wine fan, this night is for you.  Two Hands was recognized by Wine Spectator’s annual Top 100 for ten consecutive years beginning in 2002—an achievement without equal by any winery the world over. In the 2016 Top 100, their Lily’s Garden 2014 Shiraz was ranked 71st.

“Two Hands is owned by Michael Twelftree, together with Colorado native Tim Hower,” (Penn State Bachelor’s in 1981 and Masters in 1983 in Petroleum Engineering). “Tim’s love of the Barossa Valley led him to acquire several premium vineyards across the region and brought him into contact with Two Hands, culminating in his investment in February 2015. Since Tim’s involvement, Two Hands has gone on to secure additional estate vineyards, notably the Holy Grail site on Seppeltsfield Road, which [was] set for further vineyard development in 2016. With Michael and Tim sharing an ambitious vision for the future, Two Hands’ next chapter in the journey is sure to be exciting.”

Tim Hower will be joining us this night to represent his winery and share his passion for his wines.

This Wine Maker Series event will be held in the Ballroom of The Nittany Lion Inn and include a one hour reception to be held in the Atrium prior to dinner. The reception begins at 5:30pm, with dinner starting at 6:30pm. The cost for this reception and five course wine pairing dinner is only $95 per person, all inclusive. Truly an outstanding value for wines of this caliber. We will be pouring Two Hands’ Bella’s Garden Shiraz from Barossa, Gnarly Dudes Shiraz from Barossa, and a few others from their outstanding portfolio.

Our Chefs have prepared an astounding menu that perfectly accompanies each wine pairing–like a Roasted Lamb Lollipop Chop, Herb and Pistachio Green Salsa Verde, Creamy Mashers, and Mint-Scented Lamb Demi-Glace paired with Sexy Beast Cabernet Sauvignon from McLaren Vale. For dessert we will serve an Almond Frangipane Cake, Roasted Blackberries, and Tarte Whipped Cream paired with Brilliant Disguise Moscato from Barossa Valley. A few suprises are in store, so be sure to reserve your seat and enjoy!
