May 2019 Commencement
Room requests for 2019 commencement may be submitted through our online form, beginning Monday, May 7, 2018 at 8 a. m. EST through Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 11:59 p. m. EST. On Thursday, May 10, guests will be selected at random through a lottery for room assignments until all available rooms are committed in the hotel.
Guests calling in for reservations will be asked to fill out the request form under the Commencement page at either property to ensure fairness and consistency in the process. All applications submitted during these times will have equal access for selection; requests received outside of these dates will NOT be included in the initial room assignment process and will be placed on the waitlist. Duplicate entries will be removed.
All room reservations require a non-refundable $100 deposit at the time of booking and the remaining balance will be due and charged 30 days prior to arrival at which time the reservation cannot be cancelled. Due to the overwhelming number of requests during this period and our desire to accommodate as many families as possible during this exciting time, there will be a maximum of three rooms reserved per guest. Please use caution if submitting multiple requests for a family to avoid cancellation fees. *There are no minimum length of stay restrictions.
Rooms are not intended for resale or transfer without proper notification to and approval from the hotel. If you are making a reservation on someone’s behalf, please include contact details of the person staying in the room. Penn State hotels may cancel any booking that is transferred or resold inappropriately, including the sale of a room above booked value, and any deposits will be forfeited.
If you are selected in the lottery and receive a call from our team to confirm rooms, we request that you return the call within 24 hours to guarantee the room. After that time, your request will go on the waitlist and we will move on to another guest. In order to expedite the process, we request that calls for a “status check” not be made prior to Thursday, May 18, 2018.
Once the hotel is fully committed, all remaining requests will be placed on our waitlist, which is managed throughout the year. All guests being placed on the waitlist will receive an email notification from our team confirming that status. If you are selected in the lottery and receive a call from our team to confirm rooms, we request that you return the call within 24 hours to guarantee the room. After that time, your request will go on the waitlist and we will move on to another guest.
